Welcome to the era of New Media! Once upon a time, authors had to come to Traditional Publishers, hat in hand, to get their ideas into the hands of the populace. Not any more; that’s all changing. Thanks to the possibilities made available through this new era of people-driven media, virtually anyone can make their mark on our world through the magical world of words.
novus•lumen books is a new, independent publishing company that takes full advantage of this new era in order to explore the tension of an emerging faith in Jesus Christ and postmodern America. While Traditional publishing is clearly stacked in favor of the publisher, we are for the individual author and seek to do everything possible to get their ideas into the hands of as many people as possible. As an alternative to the big Religious Publishing Houses, we were established to provide public, printed space for a variety of authors to artistically journey through the exploration of Jesus and culture, while encouraging others to come along in that journey, too.
Future written pieces will contain content that explores the tension of spirituality and culture, politics and theology, existing and emerging forms of Church, the Kingdom of God and America, modern and postmodern thought, and the gritty drama that is our collective pilgrim story. novus•lumen books pledges to offer fresh, relevant, intuitive, and insightful written pieces for all Westerners, Christian and non-religious alike.
The first book from this series is titled, the (un)offensive gospel of Jesus. It is written by Jeremy A. Bouma, a missional pastor and leader. It is based on several blog posts, conversations and friendships, studies in the Gospels and theology, experiences in the Western Church, and the personal joy of following Jesus. It is now available at www.unoffensivegospel.com.
